Walking to End Women's Cancer!

On the 2nd of April local fundraising group the Southern Forest Steppers,
Consisting of 22 Ladies- one of which is fighting the horrible disease and 2
survivors , 1 Lad and 5 amazing kids held a Women's Champagne Breakfast and
Ladies Charity Football Match to help raise funds for their Walk on the May
for the Harry Perkins Institute of Research.

Over 60 Women attended the Champagne Breakfast, with guest speaker Margaret
Haydon- from the Harry Perkins Institute providing vast knowledge of where
the funds from the fundraising is used within the research.

Following the Breakfast two teams of school aged girls aged between 12 & 17
pulled on their boots to play in the Charity Match. The Manji Team defeated
the Sirens Team 6.6-42 to 4.3-28. This round kicked off the Women's Football
in the Lower South West Season.

Ashley Plummer, Tyrepower Manjimup Employee and Southern Forest Steppers
team member would like to thank the community for their ongoing support both
with this fundraiser and throughout the year. From the Champagne Breakfast
and Football Day the Team was fortunate enough to raise $4395.25 for the
Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. They embark on their 30-42km
walk on the 6th of May.
